Most account hacks happen because of weak, reused, or guessed passwords. This guide will show you how to create passwords that are both strong and memorable.
What Makes a Password Strong?
Length
The longer, the harder to crack. Aim for at least 8 characters — 12 or more for banking.
Mixed characters
Use a mix of UPPERCASE, lowercase, numbers, and symbols like ! @ # £.
No personal info
Avoid your name, birthday, pet's name, or address — these are easy to guess.
Unique per site
Use a different password for every account. If one is stolen, the others stay safe.

Tips for Remembering Passwords
3 random words
Pick 3 unrelated words and join them with symbols or numbers. Example: Horse.Lamp.River! — easy to remember, hard to crack.
Use a password manager
Apps like Bitwarden (free) or 1Password store all your passwords securely. You only need to remember one master password.
Physical notebook
Write passwords in a small notebook kept in a safe place at home — not in your wallet or on a sticky note on your computer.
Never share by email or text
No bank or company will ever ask for your password. If someone does, it's a scam.
